What is a local anaesthetic
Local - lidocaine or bupivacaine (longest duration of action)
General IV- ( Propofol,thiopental,Etomidate, ketamine)
Propofol - rapid recovery, low hangover effect
Thiopental - rapid onset, fat soluble so longer hangover effect
Etomidate - rapid recovery, no hanging effect
Ketamine - less hypotension, slow recovery, Hugh psychoactive side effects
