Making salts

(aq) + (s) -> salt (aq) + other

• Add excess of base/metal to acid
• Filter mixture to remove excess
• Evaporate most of the water and recrystalise
• Place in oven to dry

• Mix reactants
• Filter mixture to collect filtrate
• Rinse with cool water
• Place in oven to dry

• Use titration:
  1. Once rough with indicator
  2. Repeat precisely with indicator to get exact volumes needed
  3. Repeat once more without indicator
• Evaporate and crystalise
• Place in oven to dry
