Malaria lifestyle advice

A

any flu-like symptoms occurring within 3 months to a year of travel should be reported to the GP
insect repellents
plug-in devices
mosquito nets impregnated with insectides
long, loose fitting trousers and long sleeves and socks - especially between dawn and dusk - pay particular attention to the ankles
make sure windows and doors have screens and are closed at night. Air conditioning if preferable.

Insect repellent advice

A

DEET 50% recommended as the higher the concentration, the longer it lasts for. Reapply every 3-4 hours. Can be used in pregnancy and breastfeeding and in children under 2 months.
