Normal Takeoff
PF: advance thrust levers to approx 40% N1 & allow engines to stabilize
PF: Push TOGA and follow ATs to verify thrust setting. If FO, remove hand and CA puts hand on throttle
PF: Verify TO thrust is set by 60kts
PM: Monitor engine instruments and airspeed
@ 80kts
PM: “80 KNOTS, THROTTLE HOLD, THRUST NORMAL”
@ V1
PM: verify automatic V1 callout
@ VR
PM: “ROTATE”
PF: Do not follow pitch director in the rotation. Smooth gradual transition.
PM: “POSTIVIE RATE”
PF: “GEAR UP”
@400ft AGL
PF: “LNAV VERIFIED or HEADING SELECT”
PM: Select or verify roll mode
@ Thrust reduction height (usually 1000ft AGL)
PF: “VNAV”
PM: Push VNAV and verify FMA, “VNAV SPD”
PF: “FLAPS___” according to flap retraction schedule
PF: “FLAPS UP, AFTER TAKEOFF CHECKLIST”
PM: Accomplish After Takeoff Checklist (2 Backwards C’s or ABCCheck, OFF OFF OFF, Flaps, Gear, Fuel)

RECOVER
“UPSET - RECOVER”
- Push
- Roll
- Power
- Stabilize (don’t forget SPEEDBRAKES)
Upset parameters:
- Pitch > 25 degrees nose up
- Pitch > 10 degrees nose down
- Bank angle greater than 45 degrees
- Within above parameters but an inappropriate airspeed
FCTM 7.7
Normal Landing
PF: “FLAPS____” according to flap extension schedule and BUG FLAP SPEED.
PF: Verify VSD displayed for one or both pilots
PF: “GEAR DOWN, FLAPS 15” and BUG FLAP 15 speed
PM: Set landing gear lever down, verify 3 green, set flap lever, &&&& Engine start switches to CONT. Set speed brake lever to ARMED. Verify SPEED BRAKE ARMED light is illuminated
PF: “FLAPS 25” and SET VREF
PF: “FLAPS 30 or 40, LANDING CHECKLIST”
PM: Set Flaps and read landing checklist
MISSED APPROACH ALTITUDE: No Later Than 1000ft, verify missed approach altitude is set. On G/S or G/P, can set at any point. On any other, must be at least 300ft under the missed approach altitude so the aircraft doesn’t stop at it.
Vol 1. 3.4.18
CAT I ILS Approach
Review Vol 1, 4.3 Approach Guidance Table
On dog leg to final & cleared for approach:
PF: Press VOR/LOC
PM: “VOR/LOC armed”
PF: “FLAPS____” according to flap extension schedule and BUG FLAP SPEED.
Established on Localizer Course:
PF: Approach Mode
PM” GLIDESLOPE ARMED”
PF: Verify VSD displayed for one or both pilots
@ G/S Alive:
PF: “GEAR DOWN, FLAPS 15” and BUG FLAP 15 speed
PM: Set landing gear lever down, verify 3 green, set flap lever, &&&& Engine start switches to CONT. Set speed brake lever to ARMED. Verify SPEED BRAKE ARMED light is illuminated
PF: “FLAPS 25” and SET VREF
PF: “FLAPS 30 or 40, LANDING CHECKLIST”
PM: Set Flaps and read landing checklist
@1000ft
Confirm aircraft says “1000”
PM: “CLEARED TO LAND”
MISSED APPROACH ALTITUDE: No Later Than 1000ft, verify missed approach altitude is set. On G/S or G/P, can set at any point. On any other, must be at least 300ft under the missed approach altitude so the aircraft doesn’t stop at it.
PF: Verify thrust levers closed
PM: “SPEEDBRAKES UP”, verify speedbrake lever is up
@80kts
PM: “80 KTS”
Vol 1. 3.4.18 & 3.4.20
Rejected Takeoff Notes
VOL 2/ 14.2.4.5.1 & FCTM 3.8.1
Rejected Takeoff Procedure
FO
- Try to note brakes on speed for brake cooling
- Verify all the actions
- “SPEEDBRAKES UP or NO SPEEDBRAKES”
- “80 KNOTS”
- Tell tower of abort
- As soon as practical make sure captain does RTO PA
- Complete any non-normal checklists and refer to QRH section 0 - post RTO considerations
FCTM 3.8.1 & QRH NNC.0.11
Rejected Landing
A go around initiates after the MAP or below MDA/DA.
FCTM 6.6.7
Bounced Landing Recovery
Maintain normal landing attitude and control descent rate with thrust. Only need to go around if it was a high and hard bounce.
FCTM 6.6.6 😈
CFIT Terrain Avoidance Maneuver
Accomplish the maneuver anytime you hear “PULL UP” and other words with that.
PM
- Assure maximum thrust
- Verify required actions have been completed and call out any omissions
- Monitor V/S and RA for terrain clearance
- Call out any trend toward terrain contact
FCTM 7.11.2
Airspeed Unreliable
A/P: OFF
A/T: OFF
FDs BOTH: OFF
Set following pitch and power:
Flaps Up: 4 degrees and 75% N1
Flaps Down: 10 degrees and 80% N1
CA will get into the QRH. Declare an emergency. Ask ATC for block altitude and radar vectors.
Visual Approach
ATC can give clearance if within 35NM of airport, crew has airport in sight and VFR is reported.
Basically give yourself vectors and fly it like an ILS. Nice to intercept LOC at flaps 5, 180kts
Go Around
“minimums”
PF: Press TOGA. “GO AROUND, FLAPS 15”. A/P will disconnect, silence horn. Leave A/Ts on but confirm they set Go Around Thrust (1000-2000fpm climb).
PM: Set Flaps. “POSITIVE RATE”
PF: “GEAR UP”
PM: Put Gear Up
PM: “TO/GA VERIFIED” pitch on FMA
@400ft AGL
PF: “LNAV ACTIVE or HEADING SELECT”
PM: Select or verify roll mode
@1000ft AGL
PF: “FLAPS 5, REMAIN IN TOGA”
PF: “AFTER TAKEOFF CHECKLIST”

Engine Out @ Cruise
PF: A/T Off but maintain A/P if possible
Announce engine failure.
PF: “SELECT CONTINUOUR THRUST”
PM: Select Continuous thrust
PF: Set thrust levers for continuous thrust
Engine out cruise page should pop up and be selected by PM.
PF: “SELECT FL ____”
PM: Sets it and points and confirms altitude (Same as PF)
PF: “SELECT LEVEL CHANGE AND SET ____” (may need to change mach number to KIAS)
PM: Sets that and declares an emergency with ATC. Requests immediate descent to FL____ and gets into QRH.
Evacuation
