For tankers >150GT and all other vessels >400GT, to carry a:
-International Oil Pollution Prevention Certificate
- SOPEP
- ORB Part 1, for logging of
.1 ballasting or cleaning of oil fuel tanks;
.2 discharge of dirty ballast or cleaning water from oil fuel tanks;
.3 collection and disposal of oil residue (sludge);
.4 discharge overboard or disposal otherwise of bilge water which has accumulated in machinery spaces; and
.5 bunkering of fuel or bulk lubricating oil.

Mandatory Contents of SOPEP

Answer 2

1. Procedure to be followed by Master in event of oil pollution incident
2. A list of authorities and persons to contact in the event of an oil pollution incident
3. Detailed procedure of action to be taken by the ships crew in order to reduce and stop the flow of oil from an incident
4. The procedures and contact details of the command centre, placed on the bridge for co-coordinating national and local pollution control centres

• Plans of ship
• Response equipment in place
• Procedure for dealing with media
