Greatest Common Factor (GCF)
The greatest number that is a factor of two or more given numbers.
8: 1,2,4,8
12: 1,2,3,4,6,12
The G.C.F. of 8 and 12 is 4
The Least Common Multiple (LCM)
The Least Common Multiple (LCM) of two or more integers is the smallest positive integer divisible by all of them.
Note: The Lowest Common Denominator (LCD) is the same concept but specifically applied to the denominators of fractions. When you need to add or subtract fractions, you find the LCD, which is their LCM, to rewrite the fractions with a common base.
When to use the Least Common Multiple (LCM) vs the Greatest Common Factor (GCF)
GCF : to find the largest number that can evenly divide two or more numbers. i.e. cutting two pieces of rope of different lengths into the largest possible equal-length pieces
LCM: to find the smallest number that is a multiple of two or more numbers. i.e. Two buses arrive at the same stop at different intervals. The LCM will tell you the next time they will both arrive at the stop at the same moment.

A reciprocal, also known as a multiplicative inverse, is a value that, when multiplied by a given number, equals 1

Convert a percentage to a fraction in simplest form
1) rewrite the percentage as a fraction by placing the percentage number over 100.
2) find the greatest common divisor (GCD)
3) divide both the numerator and the denominator by GCD
75% = 75/100
GCF: 25
75/25 and 100/25 = 3/4
