Q

FRACTIONS TO DECIMALS

A
  • divide numerator by denominator
  • Some decimals terminate
  • If the numerator is smaller, you’ll need to add a decimal and zeros when dividing
  • Some decimals repeat forever

Q

Percents to Fractions

A
  • Take the percent and put it over 100.
  • Find the greatest common factor (GCF) of numerator and denominator
  • Divide both numerator and denominator by the GCF
  • (ONLY IF IMPROPER) Convert to mixed number if improper
    • If numerator is greater than denominator it’s a improper fraction
    • Divide numerator by denominator
    • Whole number = quotient
    • Remainder = numerator of fraction
    • Denominator stays the same
