• surgery removed his hippocampus (epilepsy)
• unable to encme long-term memories
• short-term memory is unaffected

• That LTM and STM are two seperate stores and can work independantly of eachother.
• This is a strength, both for Multistore memory model (Atkinson et al.), and the working memory model.
