A man on a mat is lowered through the roof of a house to get to Jesus, he saw their faith and said “Son your sins are forgiven
The main ideas of the paralysed man:
- Jesus was more concerned with the man’s spiritual sickness not his physical sickness.
- Jesus demonstrated his authority, “To prove that the son of Man has power to forgive sins. I say to you get up and walk”.
- Jesus shows his compassion.
The paralysed man, significance:
- It teaches Christians that can rely on God to take care of them.
- It teaches Christians that compassion is important.
Jairus’ daughter summary:
Jesus heals Jairus’ daughter because Jairus asked him to. He demonstrates his authority over death and is also foreshadowing his own resurrection, he is showing his disciples he can do this great miracle.
He tests Jairus’ faith in him by stopping to talk to the woman. He demonstrates great compassion to her. He commends her for her faith

- They should be like Jairus and ask for help when they need it
- God is omnipotent

People follow Jesus to other side of lake. Even though he is tired he feels compassion and teaches them. Disciples are told to find some food and they bring 5 loaves and 2 fish

He was begging for money as he was blind. He heard Jesus coming and calls him Son of David. Jesus was a descendent of David
Bartimaeus leaves all the possessions he has as he realises Jesus is more important and follows Jesus

He follows Jesus and this is important for Christians to do too.
Caesarea Philippi:
Jesus asks disciples “Who do people say I am”, “Some say John the Baptist, others Elijah and others one of the prophets.”
Jesus asks who they think he is. Jesus began to teach them many things, that the Son of Man would be betrayed and killed and rise again three days later. Peter rebukes him “Jesus says “Get behind me Satan. “
