What advantages did the Americans have?
A
- British were fighting 3,000 miles from home so had to keep shipping in men and supplies
- War was fought over a large area and so the British had to hav men in all those areas
- Time was on Americans’ side. The colonists had to hold out long enough and England may lose because they couldn’t bring over soldiers across the ocean quickly enough
- The war was not popular in England. Britain had trouble getting men to fight in the war
- France helped turn the tide by sending in money and trained officers to help the colonists
