In relation to critical incidents what is a serious injury?

In relation to complaint management, what is a reviewable sanction?
A reviewable sanction is one that may result in the police officer being subject to a loss of rank or specialist allowance to a monetary punishment.
What are the considerations for the release of a police fact sheet?
- Section 314 Criminal Procedure Act gives media the right to inspect court held documents. Media must apply to registrar no later than two working days after the proceedings are finalised.
- Police prosecutors may make available fact sheet for accurate reporting if the fact sheet has not be filed at court but the prosecutor read out aloud in open court.
- If a fact sheet has not been read aloud or handed up in court, the media must not be given access and the enquiry should be referred to MAU

- Identify a deceased person, or missing person who is presumed death only if the NOK has been informed and provides consent.
- Identify a deceased person when no relatives can be found in AUS
- Identify victims of crime if this will help the investigation and the victims permission has been given.
Media Policy: When can ethnicity based descriptors be legitimately used:
- Used in the pre-arrest phase, when combined with physical description
- Ethnicity based descriptors must be used once a person has been apprehended and
- Ethnicity based descriptors must only be used to describe people whose ethnicity is not known.
