Section 66
Arms Act
Every person in occupation of any land or building or the driver of any vehicle, on which any firearm, air gun, or restricted weapon is found is deemed to be in possession of that thing, unless they prove that it was not their property and that it was in the possession of another person.
Section 66B
Arms Act
Any member of Police may require any person in possession of a firearm, air gun, or restricted weapon for their full name, address and date of birth.
Should the person refuse or give false details they should be cautioned.
Should they persist they can be arrested.
Section 13
Independent Police Conduct Authority Act
Where a Police employee causes, or appears to have caused, death or serious bodily harm to any person, the Commissioner shall as soon as practical, advise the Authority in writing setting our the particulars of the incident.
Exception: Dog bites that are not deep and do not require more than wash and stitching
Section 15
Independent Police Conduct Authority Act
The Commissioner shall, as soon a practicable but no later than 5 working days, notify the Authority of every complaint received other than those already reported to the Authority.

Sentencing Act
In sentencing the court must take into account the following aggravating factors:
The offender committed the offence partly or wholly because of a hostility towards a group of persons who have an enduring common characteristic such as race, colour, nationality, religion, gender identity, sexual orientation, age, or disability and they believed that the victim has that characteristic.

The offence of inciting racial disharmony.
Includes intentionally publishing or using in public, words which are threatening, abusive, or insulting and likely to excite hostility or ill-will against, or ridicule, any such group of persons in New Zealand on the ground of the colour, race, or ethnic or national origins of that group of persons.
Section 132
Human Rights Act
No prosecution for an offence against section 131 shall be instituted without the consent of the Attorney-General.
