Speculative Execution
A process in which a computer attempts to process information ahead of time to speed up routine tasks.
Any unused calculations are dumped in a (previously?) unsecured part of the computer’s cache memory, where unauthorized users may be able to access it through a side channel (like the exploits Specter and Meltdown)
