Pathophysiology of copd

Answer 2

This starts with damage to the airways and tiny air sacs/alveolar membrane and structure in the lungs which is irreversible. Due to the damaged airways, inflammation occurs and symptoms progress from a cough with mucus to difficulty breathing and decrease in air intake. Damaged alveoli affected in gas exchange also decrease the surface area.
