A

A word, phrase, or clause that is too far away from the word or phrase it modifies / describes.

dangling modifier is different from a misplaced modifier

A

A dangling modifier occurs when the subject is missing from the sentence. A misplaced modifier occurs when the modifier is too far from the word it is trying to modify.
