What is learner autonomy?
Autonomy refers to taking control of your own learning, either independently or in collaboration with others. An autonomous learner will take more responsibility for their own learning and is very likely to be a much more effective learner than those students who are completely reliant on the teacher. Learner training in the classroom encourages autonomy and is an important element of language teaching.
