What is moraine?
Lines or a series of mounds of material, mainly running across glacial valleys.
How are terminal moraines formed?
When the ice melts during a period of snout standstill and the material it has been carrying is deposited.
What are recessional moraines?
As the glacier retreats, it is possible for a series of moraines to be formed along the valley, marking points where the retreat halted for some time.
What are push moraines?
If the climate cools for some time, leading to a glacial advance, a previously deposited moraine may be shunted up into a mound known as a push moraine.
