A
Prodrome:
Fever, muscle aches, lethargy, reduced appetite, headache, dry mouth
THEN PAROTIC GLAND SWELLING:
unilateral or bilateral

Complications of mumps?
A
Pancreatitis
Orchitis
Meningitis, encephalitis
Sensorineural hearing loss

How to manage mumps?
A
Investigate:
PCR test
Must notify public health
Tx is supportive, rest fluids and analgesia
