What are the 2 types of Nervous systems
The Central Nervous system and the Peripheral Nervous system
What is the Function of the brain for the nervous system.
It controls all the important processes in the body. It recieves messages from sense organs and sends messages to the muscles and gland.
What is the function of the spinal cord in the nervous system
It transports impulses to and from the brain. it also controls most reflex actions.
What is a reflex action
A quick response to a stimulus That your body does without you having to think about. It is for your protection
What is a stimulus
A change in any internal or external environment which triggers a response in a organism
What is an impulse
An impulse is a message sent because of a stimulus which travels through the neurons.
What are the five senses
Sight , Touch, Hearing, Taste, Smell
What are the parts of the eye
Sclera, Cornea, Iris, Lens, Retina, Optic nerve
What is the sclera
Outer layer, made of tough white tissue that covers most of the eye
What is the Cornea
A transparent dome that’s sits in the front layer of the eye that is responsible for focusing the light that enters our eye so that we can see clearly
What is the Iris
The colorful part of the eye that opens and closes to allow more or less light passes through the opening in the middle called the pupil
What is the Lens
the lens is a flexible, biconvex structure that helps to focus the light rays on the retina
What is a retina
A layer of receptor cells, called rods and cones, located at the back of the eyeball that detect stimuli in the form of light and create impulses that are sent to the brain
What is an optic nerve
A bundle of neurons that transport impulses from your eye to your brain.
What is shortsightedness or myopia
People can only see near objects clearly but far away objects are blurred. It occurs when the eyeball changes shape
