Describe the structure of a neurone
-cytoplasmic projections (dendrites, single axon)
-soma, dendrites, proximal part of the axon
(CNS) parts of oligodendrocyte
(PNS) part of a Schwann cell
What are the 4 types of neurone?
Motor (CNS to periphery, send signals to effector tissues)
Sensory (Periphery towards CNS, send environmental signals to integrative centre)
Integrative (CNS, collate all the info)
Anaxonic (retina, act as relays)
What does the white matter consist of?
Myelinated axon
What does the grey matter consists of ?
Dendrites, non-myelinated axon, nerve cell bodies, axon, neuroglia
