Two types of Network Topologies
Star
Mesh
Star Topology
All the devices are connected to a central switch or server
Can be wired or wireless
Pros of Star Topology
If a device fails the rest of the network is unaffected
Easy to add more devices to the network
Cons of Star Topology
wired Star networks, wires/ hardware can be expensive
If there is a problem with switch or server whole network is affected
Mesh Topology
Decentralised
Network devices are all connected to each other
Pros of Mesh Topology
No single point likely to fail
If a device fails data can be sent on a different route
