emergent exchange transfusion
Hyponatremia sz treatment
3% hypertonic saline.
Infuse 100–150 mL over 15–20 minutes
Central pontine myelinolysis if corrected too fast in non sz pts
Escalating Medical Strategy in Status Epilepticus
1st- Lorazepam/ Ativan, 2- 4 mg
**Benzo may be repeated before moving on to the next line
2nd- Levetiracetam/ Keppra, 2-3 g
3rd- Phenobarbital, 15-20 mg/kg

Cardiovascular collapse due to rapid infusion of phenytoin
hypotension, bradycardia, cardiac toxicity (due to propylene glycol diluent)
