class debate about abortion with a male teacher in an all girls school, although i disagreed with his view, still respected him as its his opinion and he still an authority figure, the same way i would expect him to still show me respect even though he disagrees with my views

- Want people to continue being server users to get better and be able to have people to help so ensure each patient receives the utmost care
- Noting that this could be the biggest obstacle in someone’s life so ensure they receive care full of quality to improve their interactions with life

when helping customers making sure to listen to all their needs, if something isn’t what they wanted making sure to provide them with alternatives, always seeing if there’s more i can do to help their store experience
compassion
- Never know the struggles someone face, each person deals/handles things in a different way/ has different coping mechanisms
- Listens to patients experiences carefully without judgement, put yourself in their shoes, always ask if there’s anything else you can do to help to provide comfort
- providing advice and help within your capabilities outside the scope of just diagnosis and treatment
examples of compassion
my friend who loves football experiencing a period of depression, making sure to regularly check on him, talk/do activities to get him out the house to take his mind off of things but also letting him know i’m here if he needs to talk and that i want to help

- treating patients as people rather than a condition
- understanding they’re dealing with this condition 24hr a day
- providing additional services that can help patients with their daily lives e.g. walking sticks and frames

taking part in my school’s black history month showcase to help raise money for a sickle cell charity which helps improve the quality and capability of care the charity can provide to patients thus helping to improve their daily lives

- Treating everyone equally and fairly, taking into account their religion and culture when creating treatment plan so everyone feels accomodated
- Never make assumptions, have prejudice, or stereotype individuals

making constant effort to learn about the culture of the people around me to continue to be educated and understand the role it plays in their lives and how they choose to go about their day
