Circuit
1500’ - Level off, Set flap 5 speed, select flap 5, A/T speed mode
Note/ cycling F/D’s puts A/T into speed mode
Set downwind track. Spacing should be about 2nm. (1.5 to 2 triangle symbols)
PM carry out checklists.
Abeam upwind threshold, gear down flap 20
At either, tail of triangle (10nm range) or 45 sec past threshold, flap 30 set Vref and turn base
Set FPV to 1/3 horizon and 3deg line
Landing checklist
Descent Procedure
(Landing performance done and approach entered)
PF asks for descent procedure flap “x”
PM - pushes recall reviews any alert or
memo messages
- discusses operational notes (if any)
- Vref flap “x” entered. Compare with
OPT if non-normal
- minimums set
- nav radio
- autobrake
PF briefs TCTWO (including G/A brief) then calls for descent checklist
Go Around
PF
Call “GO-AROUND” Push the TOGA switch
Call “FLAPS 20” or “FLAPS___” as needed.
PM
Set the flap lever as directed. Call “FLAPS ___”
Call “Thrust Set”
Verify a positive rate call “POSITIVE CLIMB.”
PF
Call “GEAR UP.”
Call the FMA and ASA.
Above 400 feet radio altitude, select or verify a roll mode.
Verify that the missed approach altitude is set.
At acceleration height, set speed to the maneuver speed for the planned flap setting. Call “FLAPS__”
(Speed could be 1 click for low level off, 185kt restriction or clean)
After flaps are set to the planned flap setting and at or above the flap maneuvering speed, select FLCH or VNAV
Call “AFTER TAKEOFF CHECKLIST.” Do the AFTER TAKEOFF checklist.
MCP speed automatically set to Vref -5 or if clean the flaps up speed
Non ILS Approach with IAN
TCTWO. In operational consider (as appropriate)
RAIM
Validation
RNP value
Confirmation of QNH (last chance appr checklist)
Verify Position and Unable RNP warnings.
Once cleared for approach,ensure:
Speed window open
LNAV VNAV PATH engaged
APPR armed
MDA set
Missed Approach alt set only when at least 300ft below missed approach altitude
LOC appr ensure G/S de-selected
Note/ If intercepting in HDG SEL make sure you are on intercept HDG before arming APPR.
LNAV logic will prevent premature capture
Crosswind
Rolling T/O
Forward control column below 80kts. May need full Into wind aileron.
Consider higher Vr. Up to 20Kts. Can be achieved by selecting windshear on OPT. This will improve tail clearance.
Consider Max thrust in case crosswind swings around to tailwind.

RNP APPROACH
RAIM acceptable
Temp acceptable
Validated or do AIC (must satisfy vertical for APV)
Brief includes “verify position” or “unable RNP”
Config to be Flap 5 by VIP
20,000 ft check correct RNP value on Prog page
By the IAF and after ALT, VNAV PTH, VNAV ALT, or VNAV SPD is annunciated
- verify LNAV is engaged
- verify VNAV set or verify
- DA set when in VNAV and cleared for approach
- Appr selected (when in correct sense)
- Speed window open
- MAP alt set on MCP the MCP (set when 300ft below MAP alt)
Note/ If prior to the vertical path intercept you have VNAV ALT annunciated in the FMA’s. You can force it into VNAV PTH by pressing ALT HOLD on the MCP, confirming DA set and then reselecting VNAV
A manually enterred RNP will remain for M/A.
FPA APPROACH
If AIC fails vertical part can still do LNAV FPA (or v/s) approach
Can do direct IF if turn not greater than 45 deg
Use derived DA
Can use LNAV if lateral passes AIC. (If not you are doing VOR appr in HDG or TRK with raw data monitoring. Ensure aid identified).
2nm prior to tip over set MCP alt to next constraint (rounded nearest 100ft below)
Minima is set to nearest 10ft above
At tip over FPA 3.0 deg down.
300ft above MDA set M/A alt
At derived DA if visual f/d off. PM f/d on
PRM BREAKOUT
PF
Disconnect Autopilot and immediately turn to the heading specified by the controller. A/T still engaged. Maintain current pitch for descent or start gradual climb.
PM
Turn both Flight Directors OFF
Set breakout heading in the MCP
Set breakout altitude in the MCP
Turn Flight directors back ON
Default mode V/S and HDG HOLD, therefore select HDG SEL.
Acknowledge ATC instructions
PF
Confirm HDG SEL
After established on the breakout heading.
If required to descend, limit VS to 1000 feet per minute
If required to climb use FLCH, V/S or TOGA, make standard go around calls regarding flap and gear retraction
Caution
TOGA may result in automatic LNAV capture and you will need to reselect HDG SEL
