Landing Dispatch runway wet/ contaminated/ cat III
when runway is wet, contaminated or when CAT III is forecast (or a combination of the above) select WET/CONTAM/CAT III option for an additional 15 % of runway required.
OPT wind calculation factors
OPT will calculate the takeoff performances using 150% of the entered tail wind and 50% of the entered head wind.
OPT will display a warning if winds exceeds 65 knots as per company policy. For cross wind policy refer to Ops Info.
Optimum flaps selection
Flaps which maximize the thrust reduction
OPT
Windshear selection RTG window
Selecting WINDSHEAR will calculate full power (No Derate, No Assumed)
OPT
EFP No emer turn
after takeoff the pilot should maintain runway heading. For straight out departure, the flight-path will be analyzed for obstacles until 30nm from the airport.

Required Climb Gradient.

Select the most restrictive of both climb gradient limitations.
build-in factor of 67% is taken into account, with an additional 15% for wet or contaminated runway and an additional 15% for autoland.
OPT Landing ENROUTE calculations
Climb gradient: The OPT does not limit calculation for in-flight climb gradient. However if the planned landing weight exceeds the approach or landing climb limits during Landing Enroute calculations a warning message will appear. Note, this warning is only advisory information and should be assessed accordingly by the crew.

OPT
V speeds FMC Vs. OPT
Fmc uses balanced plus and opt optimum field length.
Fmc all is equal: balanced V1, lineup equal, stopway & clearway equal, checks v1 & vmcg only, no winds, no contamination, no slope.
