What are the four different types of training?
Introduction, Transition, Recurrent, Upgrade
What must AO certificate holder do with respect to crew member training programs?
What is line training?
=Intro training - Flight test - Line trains - line check - fly with any captain or as single pilot PIC
What must the introduction segment of the initial training for crew members include? What are the hour requirements to begin introduction training?
When is transition training required for crew members?
What must transition training include if it is required?
When is upgrade train required for crew members?
What must upgrade training include if it is required?
What recurrent training is required for pilots?
All crew member:
=Normal and emergency procedures every 6 months (IFR)
=Normal and emergency procedures every 12 months (VFR)
=Written/ Oral test every 12 months
PIC:
=Route and Aerodrome check every 12 months
What equipment can be used for crew member training?
Turbofan, turboprop, twin turboprop:
-Simulators or aeroplane of the same type as the one used for operations.
Single engine gas turbine/ piston or Twin piston:
-Aeroplane of the same type.
How must pilot line training be conducted?
What is the instructors required to do when conducting line training?
-Always act as PIC
-Must occupy a pilot station when supervising a pilot looking for a PIC position until the apprentice pilot has:
=performed 5 t/o and 5 landings on type
=demonstrated to the pilot instructor the ability to perform duties of the PIC for that type.
What records must be kept of training conducted under this rule part?
Record of all training required by this rule part that each crew member undertakes, for 12 months
What is classified as a part 125 operation?
Aerpolane that has;
What crew member grace provisions are made under part 125?
Any test, check, assessment that is required that is completed within preceding 60 days is deemed to be completed on the date is is required to be completed
To conduct SEIFR with passengers, what must the AO certificate holder ensure?
What must the AO cert. holder ensure with respect to aeroplane airworthiness? What about if it is SEIFR?
-Every aircraft operated under the cert has a current standard category airworthiness certificate
SEIFR:
-Must be certified by an ICAO contracting state as:
=Turbine powered
=For IFR
=Comply with FAR23 or equivalent airworthiness standards
-Propeller model, and engine model and accessories required for continued operation those parts has:
=minimum of 100,000hours in service on the same type of aeroplane
=Same combo of prop, engine and accessories has demonstrated mechanical IFSD rate of not more than 1/100,000
What must a cert holder do if they wish to conduct SEIFR and it is not already on the cert holders operational specifications?
What is the rule about common language of crew members?
What must the AO cert holder do with respect to the flight preparation of a 125 operation?
-Flight plan not required if air operation under VFR if it is a non-stop flight that departs and arrives at the same place and remains within 25nm of aerodrome
What must be done with respect to SAR information?
-Relevant SAR information for the area being flown over is carried on board all
What must be done with respect to emergency and survival equipment information? What must it include?
-AO cert holder must have available for immediate communication to rescuers information on emergency and survival equipment carried on board each of its aeroplanes
-For AO more than 50nm from shore must include;
=No. colour and type of life rafts
=If pyrotechnics carried
=Details of emergency medical and water supplies
=Type and operating frequencies of any emergency portable radio equipment
What 3 things must the AO cert holder’s fuel policy include? What sub parts? What is its purpose?
-Purpose is for planning and en-route replanning
-Take into account:
=Taxi fuel
=Trip fuel
=Reserve fuel consisting of;
+Contingency
+Alternate fuel
+Final reserve fuel
+Addition fuel if required by type of operation
What things should the fuel policy take into account when being developed?
-Procedures, tables and graphs derived from manufacturers manuals and conform to type certificate parameters
-Operational conditions the flight is planned to be in
=Fuel consumption rate
=Expected weights
=met conditions
=ATS requirements/restrictions
=Geography of destination
=Effect on consumption of contingencies
