POWER LOSS / ENGINE FAILURE DURING FLIGHT
ENGINE FLAMEOUT OR FUEL CONTROL UNIT MALFUNCTION DURING FLIGHT
(Gas Generator Speed “Ng” Above 50%) 1. Airspeed: MONITOR 2. Power Lever: IDLE 3. Ignition Switch: ON 4. Standby Vac Pump: ON 5. Power Lever: AS REQUIRED (Satisfactory relight as evidenced by normal ITT and Ng) If no response, then: 6. Power Lever: IDLE 7. Emergency Power Lever: UNSTOW & GO (Maintain 65% Ng minimum during flight)

FUEL CONTROL UNIT RUNAWAY DURING FLIGHT
Engine goes to un-commanded full power
ENGINE FIRE IMMEDIATELY AFTER TAKEOFF
ALTITUDE <500ft AGL, AIRSPEED ABOVE DECISION SPEED
If suitable landing area exists
If terrain is not suitable for an immediate forced landing, a return for landing using engine power may be appropriate.
1. Airspeed: 85 KIAS
2. Power Lever: MINIMUM POWER (as required to maintain altitude, or climb to avoid obstacles)
3. Heading: TURN BACK TOWARD RUNWAY
When landing assured:
4. Power Lever: IDLE
5. Propeller Control Lever: FEATHER
6. Fuel Condition Lever: CUT OFF
7. Fuel Shutoff: OFF (pull out)
8. Cabin Heat Firewall Shutoff Control: OFF ( pull out)
9. Forward Side Vents: CLOSE
10. Wing Flaps: FULL DOWN
11. Fuel Tank Selectors: OFF (warning horn will sound)
12. Battery Switch: OFF
ENGINE FIRE IN-FLIGHT
ABOVE 2000ft AGL
FIRST ACTIONS: DON’T TOUCH ANYTHING.
Look for a second indication of fire in gauges or outside.
1. Gauges: CHECK
2. Power Lever: IDLE
If signs of fire DO exist, then:

CABIN FIRE - UNKNOWN SOURCE OF FIRE
EFB / PERSONAL ELECTRONIC DEVICE (PED) SMOKE OR FIRE

Cabin Fire During Ground Operations

RED ENGINE FIRE ANNUNCIATOR ON OR OFF
INADVERTENT ICING ENCOUNTER
STATIC SOURCE BLOCKAGE
ERRONEOUS INSTRUMENT READING SUSPECTED
FUEL CONTROL UNIT MALFUNCTION IN THE PNEUMATIC OR GOVERNOR SECTIONS
(ENGINE POWER FALLS BACK TO IDLE)
LOSS OF FUEL PRESSURE
AMBER FUEL PRESS LOW ANNUNCIATOR ON
FUEL FLOW INTERRUPTION TO FUEL RESERVOIR
RED RESERVOIR FUEL LOW ANNUNCIATOR ON
FUEL TANK SELECTOR OFF DURING ENGINE START
RED FUEL SELECT OFF ANNUNCIATOR ON AND BOTH FUEL SELECTOR WARNING HORNS ACTIVATED
FUEL LEVEL LOW WITH SINGLE TANK SELECTED
RED FUEL SELECT OFF AND AMBER LEFT OR RIGHT FUEL LOW ANNUNCIATORS ON AND FUEL SELECTOR WARNING HORN ACTIVATED
Turning both fuel tank selectors ON will extinguish the red FUEL SELECT OFF annunciator and silence the warning horn
ASYMMETRIC FLAP EXTENSION OR SUDDEN FLAP RETRACTION ON ONE SIDE
