Although studying a similar amount of Ps, there is one main difference between the two
Case studies aim to study an individual or small group with unique or rate experiences - Couldn’t be investigated in an experiment
Pilot studies on the other hand aim to identify potential flaws in an experiment
Therefore the aims of the two studies are different

Benefits of conducting a pilot study
A
- Increases validity of findings in the actual experiment - Researcher is able to identify problems and re-design parts of the experiment before the study begins
- Saves time + Cost effective, (saves money) - If a researcher doesn’t do a pilot study, they may only identify problems that have made their results invalid after the real study
