How to measure specific heat capacity
A
- measure the inittial temp of the block use thermometer
- turn on heater and heat to 10 degrees
- measure final temp of block with thermometer
- Subtract initial temp from final temp
- record energy suplied to the block

Stages of absorbtion and emission of infared radiation
A
- take two identical cans, one with a light, shiny surface and one with a matt, black surface
- fill cans with same amount of water
- leave cans for same amount of time for 20 mins Then measure temp
- the can with lower temp is best emitter of infrared radiation
- repeat but with colder water and for 30 mins and the can with the highest temp is best absorber of infrared radiation
