Can damage their own credibility and gove can refuse to engage if group is reckless(greenpeace used direct protests made it hard for gov to take them seriously)

A

Insider groups access to gov (NFU heavily consulted in 2020-2021 agricultural subsidy schemes)
Wealthy groups can fund expensive lobbying ( CBI lobbied ministers during brexit negotiations)

PGs donate which can increase influence (unite the union donated 3 million to labour in 2019)

Govs rely on PGs for expertise ( greenpeace influenced decisions leading up to cop 26)
