Employs people to collect or produce natural resources from land and sea. E.g farmer
What is a secondary activity
Employs people to make or manufacture goods made from raw materials supplied by primary workers. E.g car manufacturers

Employs people to provide a service
What is a quaternary activity
High-tech services such as computer coding and research and development in scientific fields. E.g coder
Classification of farming activities
Pastoral farming- animals
Arable farming- crops
Mixed farming- animals and crops
Horticulture- fruit and veg (greenhouse)
Types of farming
Subsistence- food just for farmer
Commercial- food to sell for profit
Intensive- employs a lot of workers and puts a lot of money in.
Extensive: few workers not much money invested.
Organic- no artificial pesticides, fertiliser to help grow crops.
