what is serotonin syndrome?
Typically caused by use of 2 or more antipsychotic medications and in about 15% SSRI overdoses Symptoms include: -seizures -hyperthermia -dilated pupils -agitation -increased reflexes -brisk reflexes -tremor -sweating diarrhoea
what is discontinuation syndrome?
when you abruptly stop an SSRI, sleep disturbances, anxiety, movement disturbances including tremor and tardive dyskinesia
ICD 10 for depression
At least 1 of ..... for >2 weeks -Low mood -Anhedonia -Anergia and then any of -decreased conc/indecisiveness -low self esteem -feelings of guilt, hopelessness, worthlessness -increased or decreased appetite -agitation or slowness of movements -sleep disturbance suicidal thoughts or acts
