steps to success:
- evaluate question(look at question first data 2nd like verbal) (10 seconds -how do you work it out? is that going to take more than 20 seconds (if so can you eliminate some ans and guess, flag up for later MOVE ON this is why people who do maths as level don’t do as well cos you can solve it but don’t its a trap)-what values do you need to solve?- How big is your degree of accuracy needed can you eye ball?
- find values needed to ans (It might be that they aren’t there in the data so can’t tell, or it can be in the question if not in data)
- set up equation ^^^all of them are in this deck^^^ and solve
- eliminate answers and select
whats bigger 75% of 130 or 60 % of 140?
DON’T USE CALCULATOR
75% OF 130 is bigger than 60% of 140, as percentages have a bigger impact than amounts, this fact may save calculation time in the exam
My advice (even thought I will probs fail)
practice using num lock and the nasty UKCAT calculator its repulsive, learn short cuts , if touch screen is an option on’t use it is even slower and you haven’t practiced using touch screen, ask for extra white sheets
