Why do you select the GND CTL pb to ON during preflight?

To record preflight activities.

What is the logic for the CVR if GND CTL is left in auto?

Answer 2

On the ground it will come on after Elec Power up, then shut off after 5 min.
It will come on after the first engine start
Will work inflight no matter what
On ground, will stop recording 5 min after last engine shutdown.

How are Cabin PA’s recorded on the CVR?

Answer 3

By selecting the PA knob out w/ medium volume on the 3rd ACP.
