Takeoff safety brief after V1
PF actions
After V1 the takeoff will continue, you will call “rotate” at VR, I will rotate towards 12.5 degrees and you will call “positive climb”, I will call “gear up”. If its an engine problem, you will call “engine failure or fire”, not identifying which engine.
Advice me that TOGA is available (if using FLX for takeoff).
Once the aircraft is under control I will engage the autopilot. At a minimum of 400’ AGL, I will call: “ECAM actions.” You will then read the first line of the ECAM and cross check any indications, and I will confirm. You will then carry out the ECAM actions with me monitoring you and confirm any necessary actions.
Once the engine is secure and above the EO altitude. I will push for V/S zero, accelerate and retract the flaps. As the speed approaches Green Dot, I will pull for OP CLB and set MCT.
We will follow the OCP to MSA and continue with the ECAM checklist. Having dealt with the failure we will return to _____. (If weather and performance permits.)
EFATO Actions
Go-Arounds sequence
- "Go Around flaps" ("pull speed")
Select one stage up
- FMA
"Positive climb"
- "gear up"
- "manage nav"
- LVR CLB
@ MAA, retract flaps and "activate approach phase"EGPWS:
When flight path is safe and the warning stops: Decrease pitch attitude and accelerate.
When speed is above VLS, and vertical speed is positive: Clean up aircraft, as required.
EGPWS:
“TERRAIN TERRAIN”
“TOO LOW TERRAIN”
Adjust the flight path, or initiate a go-around.
EGPWS:
EGPWS:
- “SINK RATE”
– “DON’T SINK”
Adjust pitch attitude and thrust to silence the alert.
EGPWS:
Perform a go-around.
EGPWS:
“GLIDE SLOPE”
Establish the aircraft on the glideslope, or switch OFF the G/S mode pb-sw, if flight below the glideslope is intentional (non precision approach (NPA)).
