what is regeneration
Regeneration is the improvement and investment into an area that has faced decline.
The aim is to solve many of the issues caused by deindustrialisation and urban decline.
These include derelict housing/buildings, polluted brownfield sites, low employment, low skilled population, less local services like education and healthcare, homelessness and green space.

People hoped that by building the Olympic Park in this area, it would bring investment and help to solve many of the urban problems. It would lead to the multiplier effect.
