What is LTA 1998 Section 114?
This section gives the power to stop vehicles and demand details of the driver only. This includes whether they are the owner of the car and if not, who is the owner.
How long can the driver be stopped for?
The driver may remain stopped as long as reasonably necessary for you to obtain particulars and issue tickets. If the driver has been stopped solely for the purpose of establishing identity then they can only be delayed for 15 minutes.

What is LTA Section 121?
The power to take keys and forbid to drive when an officer believes on reasonable grounds that a driver:
-is in an impaired physical or mental condition
-is not complying with driving hours
