Purpose of the Rod Control System?
A
- Controls the vertical motion of the Rod Control Cluster Assemblies (RCCAs)
- Provide Automatic or manual control of the RCCAs during power operation of the reactor.
- CVCS supplements the reactor control system by the addition and removal of varying amounts of boric acid solution.

- Control Bank A-C have 8 rods, with 2 Groups of 4 rods each.
- Control Bank D has 5 rods, with 2 groups, one with 3 the other 2.
- Two shutdown Banks (A.B) with 16 rods total. (8 each)
