When was the Sabbath Day first created?
Genesis 2:2-3
[2]And on the sevent
h day God ended his work which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made.
[3]And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it: because that in it he had rested from all his work which God created and made.
On the 7th day of the week, God ended all his work and rested. God blessed the 7th day, sanctified it (set apart as or declare holy; consecrate.)
Can we buy & sell on the Sabbath day?
No
Nehemiah 10:31
[31]And if the people of the land bring ware or any victuals on the sabbath day to sell, that we would not buy it of them on the sabbath, or on the holy day: and that we would leave the seventh year, and the exaction of every debt.
Prove our forefathers kept the Sabbath
2 Maccabees 12:38
So Judas gathered his host, and came into the city of Odollam, And when the seventh day came, they purified themselves, as the custom was, and kept the sabbath in the same place

Numbers 28:9-10

[10]This is the burnt offering of every sabbath, beside the continual burnt offering, and his drink offering.
We used fire for burnt offerings in the Sabbath. The burnt offerings required us to use fire on the Sabbath Day.
Prove that we cannot cook on the Sabbath Day
Exodus 16:23
And he said unto them, This is that which the Lord hath said, To morrow is the rest of the holy sabbath unto the Lord: bake that which ye will bake to day, and seethe that ye will seethe; and that which remaineth over lay up for you to be kept until the morning.
PREPARE FOR THE SABBATH THE DAY BEFORE, WHICH IS A THURSDAY.
No cooking on Sabbath Day
Exodus 35:3
Ye shall kindle no fire throughout your habitations upon the sabbath day.
Kindling No fire is going into cooking. See Numbers 28:9-10
Prove the Sabbath Day is the highest day
2 Maccabees 15:1-2
[1]But Nicanor, hearing that Judas and his company were in the strong places about Samaria, resolved without any danger to set upon them on the sabbath day.
[2]Nevertheless the Jews that were compelled to go with him said, O destroy not so cruelly and barbarously, but give honour to that day, which he, that seeth all things, hath honoured with holiness above all other days.

Christ kept the Sabbath Day
Luke 4:14-16
[14]And Jesus returned in the power of the Spirit into Galilee: and there went out a fame of him through all the region round about.
[15]And he taught in their synagogues, being glorified of all.
[16]And he came to Nazareth, where he had been brought up: and, as his custom was, he went into the synagogue on the sabbath day, and stood up for to read.
