  • inside drones and chanter there are reeds
  • different reeds in chanter than drones

  • small harp with 30 strings
  • low stool with clarsach in-between knees
  • makes sound by plucking strings
  • played solo or accompanied by a company singer

Accordion

A
  • became popular in Scotland since 1930s
  • instrument on their knee and holds it with both hands
  • makes sound by pushing air in and out of the bellows which are in the middle of the accordion
  • the right hand played keyboard and left hand plays cords by pressing buttons on other side of instruments
    -can be played solo but more often played in Scottish country dance band
