Rules for conduct of strip searches
- Conducted in private area
- Not in presence or view of opposite sex
- A parent, guardian or personal representative may be present.
- A strip search of a child 10 years or older, impaired intellectual functioning needs a support person
- No cavity search or examination of body by touch.
- No removal of more clothes than reasonably necessary
- No visual inspection than reasonably necessary.
- May be conducted in presence of a medical practicioner.
