Contour Line

Cross Contour Line
A line drawn across the surface of an object to show its three-dimensional form, volume, and texture. Similar to latitude and longitude lines on a globe.
Hatching
Closely spaced, repeated, parallel lines to create shadows and texture.
Gestural Line
Captures the movement and essence of an object—a rapid, expressive stroke used to capture the movement, energy, and form of a subject.
Calligraphic Line
Fancy line movement like that of handwriting. A flowing and graceful line that mimics the elegant, varied strokes of calligraphy.
