a lean manufacturing method where components are delivered to the production line only when needed reducing storage costs waste and excess stock.
Advantages of JIT?
-reduces the amount of space needed for storage materials and finished products which saves money because you do not need to rent a huge warehouse
-less money being spent on materials that aren’t being used
Disadvantages of JIT?
- The system relies on materials and components being delivered on time and being fault free (there isn’t time to return faulty goods)
-this could result in money being loss
