Calculating speed
A
To find the speed of an object we need to know how far it travelled and how long it tool to travel that distance.
We use the equation:
Speed = distance / time or s=d/t

Calculate the speed of the sprinter
Ran 100m in 10s

100m / 10s = 10m/s

Speed and velocity difference…
A
We often use the word speed and velocity as if they were they have the same meaning but there is a small but important difference.
Speed tells us how fast the object is moving
Velocity tells us how fast an object is moving and in which direction
20m/s is speed. 20m/s northward is velocity
