A

The point at which the boat acts vertically downward

When weight is added the boat leans towards the added weight.

When weight is subtracted it leans the opposite way.

A

A

Center of buoyancy acting upward is below the center of gravity acting downward.

Rolling - boat rocks side to side due to waves, winds, or uneven weight.

Heeling- a temporary lean in the boat

Listing- boat stays tilted due to winds
