A

What is the research evidence for conservation

A
  • Children were given the same amount of coins that were spaced out similarly in 2 lines, in which they admitted the number of coins was the same
  • When the coins were spaced out different, children that were 7 and under claimed the lines with greater spacing had more coins

What is the naughty teddy study

A
  • Children were given the same amount of coins that were spaced out similarly in 2 lines, in which they admitted the number of coins was the same
  • When the coins were spaced out different by a ‘naughty teddy’, 68% of children (even those as young as 4) knew the change in formation was an accident and remained with the same answer
