Question 1

Cc1 door closure upon request by CAP

Answer 1

1. Cc1 must advise the CAP of the cabin status to ensure push back/taxi does not commence
2. Cc1 PA “ CC please prepare for immediate departure. We ask all passengers to be seated”
3. Cc1 follow door closing procedures
4. Cc1 will call the FC via interphone and advise when the cabin status meets the requirements:
   - All Pax seated
   - All infants are secured
   - All overhead lockers are closed
   - All overwing briefing completed
5. Cc1 will then imitate door arming procedures
6. If stairs have been used for boarding, door arming procedures must not commence until the above procedures has been completed

Question 2

Emergency contact period during sterile flight deck

Answer 2

1. When power is applied for take off to the time the landing gear is retracted after take off
2. When the landing gear is extended for landing to the time that the aircraft comes to a complete stop on the run way or enters a taxiway
3. During a rejected take off until the aircraft has been brought to a stop on the runway & the CAP has made a PA

Question 3

What If a pax is smoking?

Answer 3

Smoking on aircraft is not permitted, applied to all forms and devices inc e-cigarettes

1. If a pax disregard the regulation, draw smoking ban to their attention, instruct the individual to cease immediately & inform the CAP
2. CC must check the area & compartment for disposal of cigarette butts & ensure they have been disposed of safely & cannot ignite a fire
3. If a pax continue to smoke, a 2nd Cc must instruct the pax to comply w the instructions of the crew ( in this situation a written statement is required from a minimum of 2 witnesses)
4. Cc1 must report any pax smoking on a ASIR/SOR

Question 4

When does Sterile Flight Deck period apply?

Answer 4

After CC advise FC that cabin is ready for take off, until the seat belt sign is turned off
During descent after the faster seatbelt is turned on until FC park the aircraft and turn the fasten seatbelt sign off

Question 5

Refueling with passengers on board

Answer 5

1. Make refueling PA
2. 1L open with boarding equipment in place
3. CC remain in vicinity of forward and aft doors - be prepared for evacuation
4. Exits and aisles are unobstructed
5. Smoking is prohibited
6. Seat belts unfastened.
