lateral pontine syndrome

  • affected artery
  • signs

  • Anterior inferior cerebellar artery

a condition similar to the lateral medullary syndrome but with additional involvement of pontine cranial nerve nuclei. It leads to:

  • cerebellar ataxia,
  • vertigo,
  • ipsilateral hearing loss
  • ipsilateral facial weakness.
  • ipsilateral Horner’s syndrome
  • ipsilateral loss of pain and temperature sensation on the face
  • contralateral loss of pain and temperature sensation over the contralateral body
