TORS Mission
To provide extraordinary operational support on a 24-hour basis to the Tactical Operations
Group (TOG) with the intent of resolving High Risk Situations without loss of life, injury to
persons or damage to property.

In conjunction with TOU, requested for high risk situations

- Arresting Armed and Dangerous Offenders

- Resolving siege/hostage situations
- Searching of premises during high risk deployments (search/crime scene warrants

What is a stoppage?
Anything that prevents the pistol from firing, when the user intends that it should fire.

Safe Direction
A safe direction is a direction in which any unintentionally fired shot would be safely stopped
and contained with No Human Injury, and at most, only minimal property damage
Unintentional Discharges
Unintentional discharges are rounds fired unintentionally during weapons handling. Three
Steps must occur for a firearm to discharge:
• The firearm must be a functional, working model.
• There must be a round in the chamber.
• Someone must pull the trigger
