Flexor retinaculum - other name
A
Transverse carpal ligament (or) flexor retinaculum - both are same - this structure compresses the median nerve in the carpal tunnel - for carpal tunnel release surgery - this structure is cut to release the pressure on the median nerve and thus relieve the symptoms of carpal tunnel syndrome.
